The No Kids Debate

A recent issue of Maclean's featured an article highlighting the reasons not to have children.

Apparently, that article has caused quite the uproar, as detailed in a follow-up article.

Many people with children took offense to the article. And apparently, many people believe that those who elect not to have children are selfish and egotistical.

I believe in freedom of choice. I think having children is hard at times. It is also costly. If you don't truly want to have kids, this would be a lot harder to accept and handle.

I just saw a graphic video yesterday about a little baby in New Mexico who was killed 6 years ago. So abused in her less than 6 months of life that I cried watching the video. Some people should not have kids, and rather than making them feel guilty we should commend them for making the right choice for them and their potential offspring. (not that I am suggesting that all people who choose not to have kids would be abusive parents)

But that is just my opinion... What's yours?
