Night Vision

Before having kids I would have laughed at anyone who bought a baby monitor with a video camera. Do you really need to see your baby ALL the time??

Apparently you do, because I just bought one and I LOVE it!!

It all started when Alex started rolling over in her bed at 10 weeks. She would get her arms and legs stuck in the crib railings. I would hear her crying but leave her in the hopes she would fall back to sleep. Imagine my guilt when I would go in and find her all stuck... No wonder she didn't fall back to sleep.

I bought her a great sleep sack. It has reduced the amount of rolling she does and her legs don't get stuck anymore. But because she is a motor baby her arms still get stuck - or she manages to get her head all wedged into the corner of the crib.

I found myself sneaking into her room to see if she was crying for a good reason or just fussing and I should leave her. It was getting annoying - I only have 40 minutes of sleep during naps and don't need to spend part of that time sneaking around...

So, I broke down and ordered a video monitor. It arrived yesterday.

What joy to roll over at night and hit the little button and see what she is doing in her crib. Nope, not stuck anywhere... she just nursed... so I can roll over and ignore her. And there... she is back to sleep.

No more guilt! Now THAT is worth A LOT of money!
