Going to the Airshow

Owen left this morning with his Dad and two uncles to the Abbotsford Airshow. This is his first visit to an airshow and he is quite excited about it. I, on the other hand, have mixed emotions.

On the one hand, I think it is really important that Owen do some activities with his male role models, and an airshow is certainly something all of them can get excited about.

On the other hand, airshows are LOUD. While I seem to be the only one in the family concerned about Owen's hearing, I did seek out something to protect him from hearing loss. We picked up a pair of ear muffs from Dandelion Kids. Only $39.95 and they will grow with him. He can wear them at outdoor concerts and other loud events that he might attend. Fortunately, he thinks they are pretty cool and is calling them 'plug-ears'. He wore them most of the day yesterday and already had them on in the car as they head out this morning.

And just to prove that I am obsessed about Owen's safety, I also ensured that he had his Vital ID bracelet on his wrist. It contains our cell phone numbers and home number in case he gets lost.

As he left I asked him what he would do if he lost Daddy at the airshow. He gave me that all knowing look of his and said "I know, I know Mama". I still made him tell me though 8-)
