So I finally got Alex to take a bottle. She is quite picky it turns out.
But she likes the Medela bottles and is happily taking formula out of them. So happy, in fact, that she has refused to nurse during the day. This has finalized my decision to switch to formula.
I can't deny that I feel somewhat hurt by her preference for the bottle. But I know nursing has never been easy for either of us...
Now she is sometimes taking more than the 5 ounces that the Medela bottles hold. So yesterday I went on the hunt for the larger Medela bottles that nobody seems to carry.
I went to Walmart, Shoppers, London Drugs, Boomers and Echos and even the expensive but lovely Jack and Lola (where I managed to spend a whole whack of money on things I had never intended to buy).
No luck.
I did discover, however, that the Dr. Brown's nipple looks identical to the Medela nipple. So I bought one of those. Tried it out last night and she was unimpressed.
Why, Alex why? It is the same shape. It feels the same. It looks the same. Maybe it is something about the fancy attachment they have in their bottle to reduce colic. I don't know... I will try again today. Sheesh...
