Recently INFACT Canada created a call for action on improving breastfeeding support for mothers and babies across Canada. A petition is now underway, and INFACT has promised to deliver the signatures directly to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The petition calls for implementation of a strategy based on respect for the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and other initiatives, as well as strengthened maternity benefits and workplace support, all of which might better enable mothers to breastfeed.
