I am a huge proponent of Mother's Intuition... and the need to trust it.
Sometimes this can be really hard to do, especially if you have other people contradicting what your intuition is telling you.
I learned this when Owen was a baby and I kept being told that he was 'just a colicky baby'. I didn't believe it, I did research on colic on the internet and it didn't fit. But I was a first time Mom and here were the midwives and the doctor telling me I was over-reacting. So it took me four months of hell before I trusted my intuition and demanded a referral to a pediatrician. Lo and behold, not colic - but easily medicated reflux.
Four months that could have been avoided had I trusted my intuition in the first place...
Here is another great example of a Mother who trusted her intuition and possibly saved the life of her son... also with a little help from Google.
